Ueli M\u00e4der<\/p><\/div>\n

The well-known Swiss sociologist Ueli M\u00e4der was honored for his socio-political commitment, which, according to the jury, “is linked to both the socio-psychological and humanistic thinking of Erich Fromm and is updated by M\u00e4der for the present day”.
\nM\u00e4der’s areas of expertise are development sociology, political sociology and social policy. Ueli M\u00e4der is particularly specialized in questions of social inequality as well as conflict and cooperation research. He is known for his socially critical positions (e.g. on issues of inequality and poverty) and for taking an open stance on political issues. However, he always does this in a respectful manner and thus successfully builds bridges.
\nThe Erich Fromm Prize 2022, endowed with \u20ac10,000, was awarded on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 6 p.m. at the Hospitalhof Education Center in Stuttgart.<\/p>\n

Background<\/h4>\n

The Erich Fromm Prize, endowed with \u20ac10,000, has been awarded annually by the International Erich Fromm Society since 2006. The prize is awarded to individuals who have made or are making outstanding contributions to the preservation or recovery of humanistic thought and action in the spirit of the famous social psychologist Erich Fromm (1900-1980) through their scientific, social, socio-political or journalistic commitment.<\/p>\n
