Jakob von Uexküll is awarded the Erich Fromm Prize 2008. With the Alternative Nobel Prize (Right Livelihood Award) and the World Future Council, Jakob von Uexküll creates perspectives that give hope in a world increasingly governed by economism, without turning a blind eye to the real dangers. But hope, according to Erich Fromm, is “the decisive element in any attempt to bring about social change”.
