Presentation of the Erich-Fromm-Award 2022 to Ueli Mäder
on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 6 p.m. in the Hospitalhof Education Center in Stuttgart
The well-known Swiss sociologist Ueli Mäder was honored for his sociopolitical commitment, which, according to the jury, „is linked to both the sociopsychological and humanistic thinking of Erich Fromm and is updated by Mäder for the present.“
Mäder’s areas of expertise are developmental sociology, political sociology and social policy. Ueli Mäder is in particular specialized in questions of social inequality as well as conflict and cooperation research. He is known for representing socio-critical positions (e.g., on issues of inequality and poverty) and openly taking positions on political issues. Yet he always does so in a respectful manner, thereby successfully building bridges.
The Erich Fromm Prize 2022, endowed with €10,000, was presented on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 6 p.m. at the Hospitalhof in Stuttgart. The award ceremony was again held in cooperation with the Evangelisches Bildungswerk Hospitalhof Stuttgart.
